The iPhone 15 Pro differs noticeably from the iPhone 14 Pro in a few key ways. But there are still good reasons to get the latter.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 range, which consists of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, during this year’s annual hardware event.

iPhone 15 Plus

The new rounded edges on the back and front of the iPhone 15 may make it feel different in your hands, even if it still resembles its predecessors quite a bit. Thanks to a new matte coating on the glass, it also has a somewhat different appearance on the rear.

The applicable iPhone 15 models now include the aluminium side rails and IP68 certifications for dust and water protection that were present on the iPhone 14.

The previous mute switch on the side of the iPhone has also been replaced with a new “Action Button” on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max by Apple. This new button may be set up to perform a variety of tasks, such as turning on the torch, switching on Focus mode, launching a personal shortcut, or just muting the phone like the previous switch did.

But the iPhone 15 Pro versions are the only ones with that button. The fact that Dynamic Island, which was previously exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pros, is now featured on every model of the iPhone 15, may be the largest design change to the whole iPhone 15 series. If you were getting Island envy from seeing your friends whip out their Pros, Apple’s peculiar design decision will soon be available on any iPhone 15 you choose.

Apple’s adoption of USB-C charging is the only other design change that can compete with it in terms of effect. That’s right, if you upgrade to an iPhone 15, you can say goodbye to your Lightning cords. The EU ordered Apple to incorporate a new USB-C connector on the iPhone 15 that allows for charging and file sharing, which results in faster file transfers than with earlier iPhone models.

Only the new Pro Max model of the iPhone 15 is seeing a price rise, at least in the U.S. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will continue to start at $799 and $899, respectively, while the iPhone 15 Pro will start at $999. All other models will have the same starting price as their predecessors.

The exception is the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which now has a starting price of $1,199, an increase of $100 over the previous model.

iPhone 14 Pro

With a $799 entry-level iPhone 14, a $999 iPhone 14 Pro, and a $1,099 iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple maintained prices for the iPhone 14 in line with those for the last several top iPhone generations. The $699 iPhone 13 small was replaced with a new $899 iPhone 14 Plus model, which was the only difference.

The U.K. pricing for the iPhone 14 starts at £849, rising to £949 for the iPhone 14 Plus, £1,099 for the iPhone 14 Pro, and £1,199 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, all of which are at least £100 more expensive than the corresponding iPhone 13 models. However, prices outside of the U.S. did rise.

An identical situation exists in Australia, where the prices of the AU$1,399 iPhone 14, AU$1,579 iPhone 14 Plus, AU$1,749 iPhone 14 Pro, and AU$1,899 iPhone 14 Pro Max are all higher than those of the devices from the previous year.

With a few minor modifications, the iPhone 14 family’s design is quite identical to that of earlier models. The front selfie camera is located either in a notch (on the basic models) or a Dynamic Island (on the Pros) on each of the four variants’ flat-sided phones.

Although there is no longer a 5.4-inch option due to the discontinuation of the small, both Pro and non-Pro phones are available with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED screens. The Pro versions also have an always-on display feature, a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate, and a greater peak brightness.

How to Customise Your iPhone

Apple’s iOS 16 has made the iPhone more customisable than ever. This is the definitive manual on how to personalise the iPhone.

Software personalisation and customization may be challenging, especially if they are tucked away in menus that the majority of users never use. Apple, on the other hand, has adopted a different strategy by making user customization the main feature of iOS 16.

Due to a number of interlocking characteristics, almost every interaction on the iPhone may be modified or controlled in some manner. These consist of widgets, personalised app icons, focus modes, and lock screen customization.

Focus Modes are a system for organising customised home screens, lock screens, and other displays across the text. Everything indicated for an active Focus still applies when there isn’t a Focus active since users are technically in a “default” Focus with its own settings.

Conclusion

The iPhone 15 series, which includes the iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, has been unveiled by Apple. The iPhone 15 Plus has rounded corners on the front and back, matte glass, aluminium side rails, and IP68 certifications for water and dust protection. The new “Action Button” on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max may be set up to perform a variety of tasks, such as muting the phone, turning on the torch, or enabling Focus mode. The Dynamic Island, which was formerly exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pros, is now featured on all iPhone 15 models. Additionally, Apple has shifted to USB-C charging, enabling faster file transfers.

Only the new iPhone 15 Pro Max variant will cost more in the US; the prices for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will stay at $799 and $899, respectively. The iPhone 14 Pro comes in three different price ranges: the $799 base model, the $999 Pro model, and the $1,099 Max model. Prices outside of the United States have increased, with the iPhone 14 starting at £849 in the United Kingdom, the iPhone 14 Plus at £949, the iPhone 14 Pro at £1,099, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max at £1,199.

The iPhone is now more customised than ever, according to Apple’s iOS 16, which gives users the option to personalise the lock screen, widgets, unique app icons, and focus modes.
